I have been researching the Grand Vitara Diesel recently, looking to purchase a vehicle for an every day drive with good economy with some 4 wheel drive capability. Though I have just stumbled across an issue in some forums in both Europe and Australia with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
Hi I've got a Suzuki Grand Vitara 2008 1.9 diesel ddis - I've had the dpf removed and the ecu remapped, this was to fix a fault related to a non-clearing dpf unit. Since then I've had a problem with the car dropping into limp mode when the engine is under load - this is intermittent but easy to replicate under certain driving conditions.
Hiya I have a grand vitara 1.9 ddis, problem is trouble starting, when driving will cutout, fault code poo89 found in ecu, have replaced pump in tank, filter and high pressure pump any ideas Submitted: 8 years ago.

SOURCE: replacement of coolant temperature sensor. located under intake in water crossover pipe,you can access the sensor by removing intake chamber box,then pcv hose connected to the block,the connector is orangeish 2pin,use a 19mmdeep socket on a 3/8 ratchet to get it loose,make sure engine is cool,also make sure there
The steering is light and accurate, and the Vitara remains reassuringly stable when driven at speed. Off road the four-wheel drive system is easy to engage. The 1.9-litre diesel engine delivers respectable performance, and proves more flexible than the petrol variants.

Turn the key to the "ACC" position which is the notch that allows power but doesn't turn the engine. 2. The display will read change engine oil soon - hit the display button (i) and the display will read 0% oil life. 3. Hit reset button (the check mark button) for 5 seconds and the display will change to 100 % oil life.
