Sure you can mow grass with forage harvester but you need the right kind of header and tractor + trailer as well where forage harvester shoots the cut grass. E.g Krone Big X 1180 + Krone XDisc 620 + any tractor with trailer following it. By the looks of it, Big X 1180 has bolt hitch, meaning that it can tow e.g HKD 302 behind it.
If they cant turn around, they wont work. If the harvester is close to getting full they will slow down. But on the other hand there has been some glitches on the xbox one and the harvester. Personally I just do it myself and have workers do other things. r/farmingsimulator.

Short answer is yes you can grab a felled tree. Attempt to explain how: You'll want to pull the harvester perpendicular to the tree, set the bottom of the business end of the harvester on (or just above) the ground next to the base of the downed tree. Once you have the controls down, it is quite easy to clear a forest in no time. I have used joysticks in the past, but currently use keyboard & mouse, & have found it to be very easy to master. I often find wooded stretches of land, which I then clear to make my own fields or building sites. #1.
