The DPF light flashing indicates a fault is detected with the exhaust DPF system. This can be a sensor in the exhaust that is failing or the DPF filter itself or any other exhaust related component that would trigger the DPF warning to come on. What has to be done from here is to have the fault codes read out/checked to see what codes are set.
The control indicator ('!') will flash if the diesel particulate filter needs cleaning and your previous journey hasn’t enabled automatic cleaning. I reset the DPF counter using the steps in the link above, and during the process I think I shorted something that wasnt supposed to be and now I have no speedometer and numerous fault lights up. Car still runs but engine light, DSC OFF light, traction control light, ABS light, airbag light and power steering light all stay on while car is running.
